La ciudad de Nueva York refuerza su red de apoyo comunitario con varias distribuciones de alimentos gratuitas que tendrán lugar entre el 29 de junio y el 2 de julio. Vecinos de Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, el Bronx y Staten Island podrán acceder a alimentos frescos y paquetes de despensa en puntos estratégicos repartidos por la todo el territorio; estas iniciativas buscan aliviar la carga económica a familias, personas mayores y residentes con recursos limitados durante el período de transición entre mes y mes. Además de ofrecer frutas, verduras y productos no perecederos, muchos sitios cuentan con personal que brinda información sobre servicios sociales locales y programas de asistencia a los que puede acceder la comunidad.

Las ubicaciones enlistadas pertenecen a Food Bank For NYC —por ejemplo, centros comunitarios y escuelas donde esa organización coordina entregas— pero la lista que publicaremos incluye solo algunos de esos puntos; para ver el cuadro completo de lugares, horarios y requisitos (como documentación o límites por persona), visita el sitio web oficial de la organización.

Si vives en Brooklyn o buscas opciones cerca de Red Hook, Bushwick o Flatbush, revisa los horarios específicos de esos barrios porque suelen variar según la logística local y el volumen de demanda. En Manhattan y el Upper East/West Side, muchos eventos ocurren en plazas y centros vecinales con acceso sencillo en transporte público; usa la app de la MTA o Google Maps para planificar tu ruta y llegar a tiempo.
