Temblor en México: magnitud y epicentro del último sismo del viernes 29 de mayo

SISMO EN MÉXICO VÍA EL SERVICIO SISMOLÓGICO NACIONAL

En el contexto de la Tectónica de Placas, México está ubicado en el llamado Cinturón de Fuego, donde se registra gran parte de los movimientos telúricos a nivel mundial. El país se ubica en la Placa Norteamericana, limitado en su porción sur y oeste, con las placas de Cocos, Rivera y del Pacífico.

México es uno de los países del mundo con mayor actividad telúrica, ya que, según estadísticas, se registran más de 90 sismos por año con magnitud superior a 4 grados en la escala de Richter, lo que equivale a un 60% de todos los movimientos telúricos que se registran en el mundo.

Con base en el registro estadístico, los estados con mayor riesgo y donde ocurren sismos de gran magnitud que pueden afectar a la Ciudad de México son: Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Puebla, Estado de México y Veracruz.
